What is autism?

Before answering some specific questions about autism we will first define what autism is??

Autism is a lifelong disability associated with the development that affects the way communication and reports of a person with those around him. Children and adults with autism have difficulties building relationships with significant others. Their ability to develop friendships is generally limited as is their ability to understand the emotional expression of others. In addition, people with autism can often have learning disabilities but everyone with this disease share a difficulty in making sense of the world.

with autism generally experience three main areas of difficulty known as the triad of impairments:

Social interaction (difficulty establishing relationships with society, for example, seem distant and indifferent to others).
Social Communication (difficulty with verbal and nonverbal communication, such as not quite understand the meaning of common gestures, facial expressions or tone of voice).
Imagination (difficulty in developing the game interpersonal and imagination, for example, have a range of activities imaginative limited, may be copied and practiced rigidly and repetitively).

In addition to this triad, repetitive behavior patterns and resistance to change in routine are often characteristic.

The autistic
- is fascinated by objects that rotate,
- gets mixed results in precise movements,
- do not fear danger,
- hardly establishes contacts with others,
- sets hard eye contact,
- is hyperactive or hypoactive,
- engages in obsessive games,
- laughs without valid reason,
- seems to be deaf,
- resists caresses
- is crying spells, is helpless without knowing why,
- resist conventional methods of teaching this language abnormalities ( echolalia, lack of language)
- seems insensitive to pain,
- resists changes in routine,
- prefer to isolate themselves,
- expresses its needs through gestures.
