I was invited to the fair at Lyon 2008 on Thursday for a small tournament between pros and amateurs. Poker @ Lyon, the association responsible for organisaiton saw the big picture and set up a booth with a high quality three dozen tables and a worthy organization of the event. We were greeted and treated like royalty, a real treat!
I also had the pleasure to meet most of my new teammates for the team Winamax: Ludovic, Anthony L., Alexia, Almira, led benevolent Mik22. Also note the presence of Pascal Perrault and the illustrious and inimitable Jaybee of Donka in Vegas.
Regarding the tournament, I'm pretty proud of my performance because I managed to finish first ... Leavers! Here is the hand that cost me almost my entire stack.
After 5 minutes of play in 25/50, I'm SB with Q9s. Everyone folder up button, a poker player @ Lyon nicknamed "Pinpin" which raises to 125. I call to see a flop, and the BB folder. Q94 flop with two clubs. I Cheke, pinpin placing 225, I 800, he reraise to 2300, I have carpet, I call with A9 of clover and touches his flush on the turn (I was still faovri to 57%, part of my honor is safe ...). I have 300 chips, I will send a few hands later with KT cons 99. Total playing time: 12 minutes. GG Manuba!
I spent the rest of the day talking with players, first out of almost all my sit and go, admiring the hostesses Partouche, sign boards and tables ... That's class to join a team of famous players, people think you're famous too. :-D. Jaybee finish 2nd in the tournament behind PP The Bandit, sealing the victory for the pros in this event.
Back to train with Michael and with a bit of Almira debate on the "run-it-Twice Is it good or bad for televised poker?" Mik before slipping into unconsciousness with a well deserved rest. Almira talks to me a bit of chess, its length, its ambitions to Poker ... This is a really fascinating young woman of intelligence, culture and determination. With such a team around her, I predict a bright future on the international stage.
I finished the day about the tournament at 200 Hold'em / Omaha of the ACF, in which nothing good happens (I get out fast enough after losing three times with AAxx in Omahah, heads-up and almost all in preflop). I encourage my friend to nets nicbab, which run super good this week in addition to being a highly skilled player: deal with mixed game on Tuesday, Wednesday's deal in the 500 and 5th place in the tournament on Thursday! The Poker Club held it a challenger to Gab and Rémi Biechel?
